NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 in which he loved playing different card games at a young age. He found himself becoming really aggressive in these card games while playing his father. After finishing high school, Howard decided to place college on hold for a little bit and headed to New York City to play some formidable chess. While competing in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were difficult as he played countless hours and fail to win a majority of the time. He made some extra cash by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he could improve his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to acquire more rest and concentrate even more on poker.

The definite advancement in his abilities began when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable players would often play against each other. He was able to access a few of the best minds in chess. With their help, Howard would tweak his cunning thinking skills. Howard used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke master poker. Annie Duke was an excellent student of the game as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper choice. He told Annie Duke to head out to Sin City and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie is one of the strongest female players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 and played money games for the subsequent 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to participate in more tournaments.
